Pros

I was really excited about this job for both what the company claimed to be doing and the high compensation. CEO cares a lot about a long list of "values" The product works just enough

Cons

Bonuses were canceled before I ever saw one. Not too long later, employee salaries were cut by 33%, but it was "effective" for the previous paycheck which meant employees only received 33% of their paycheck with no prior notice. Between layoffs and turnover, the company only has one or two of the same employees they did last year. Many employees were promised the chance to *build* technology or programs as you would expect in startups, but were not given the resources to do so and then instructed to basically maintain what was already there. The technology does increase revenue for the customers, but they're taking a leap when they explain how it works. The CEO is not a leader and plays a delicate balance of micromanaging and not being available. His involvement in a project typically meant slowing down or derailing an opportunity.

Pros

- Unique opportunity in a vertical ripe for disruption. - Game changing product, clear value for our customers. - Start-up environment, so requires the right mindset to work here. This is a place for doers and a team with flexibility. Solid group of people here with that mindset.

Cons

- We're growing fast; growing brings pain at times. - Multiple physical offices can make communication tough

Pros

Certain teams have great leadership and mentors. The product is challenging to learn and I definitely had a good amount of skill growth. The engineering team is great to work with and has a lot of sharp players!

Cons

There was no feedback cycle. I was quite literally laughed at when I asked for feedback and my boss told me he "did not have time for that." I felt greatly undervalued for the amount of work that I was doing, and I saw that same trend among a majority of my coworkers. The good employees get burned out quickly. There are a lot of perks promised out the gate which turn out to be lies. The learning curve here is steep, and asking too many questions is discouraged. It was a lot more difficult to learn than it could have been if upper management had been a bit more considerate to new employees. Finally, there is SO much room for automation. The work itself got incredibly tedious and boring. Bringing this up got met with resistance... they would rather keep their employees at a lower price point and make them do manual work than pay for intelligent solutions.
