I expected better from a company claiming to innovate - Data Analyst Govini Employee Review

Pros

There were moments when people actually wanted to improve things. Paycheck showed up on time.

Cons

The culture is stuck in amber basically - ideas come in, and then they get slowly strangled by people who've always done things one way. I watched the same process play out three times: someone proposes something better, it gets studied to death by committees that have no stake in whether it works, and then it dies quietly while the same broken processes chung along. People talk about innovation but they're actually terrified of it, like they're protecting turf they carved out years ago. There's this weird thing where credit gets monopolized by senior people while junior staff does the actual work, which sounds like every company but here it felt intentional, like a closed system designed to keep things exactly as they are. Everyone's just... tired. Not busy-tired, but soul-tired, the kind where you realize nobody actually wants to fix anything would mean admitting the old way was wrong.

Pros

Amazing company, huge ability to impact the business, and great company culture

Cons

Lots of growth means some growing pains related to scaling, but that comes with any growing company.

Pros

Great Company! It really is a place to grow, and I have personally learned so much. You get exposed to great things and if you have the right mindset and a forward leaning and a go-getter, you can really give yourself tons of responsibility and make an impact with the DOD and at the company. The people here are also truly some of the best co-workers I have worked with, pretty cool to actually have a community I am excited to see when I go into work

Cons

The only cons is really just startup cons rather then "Govini" cons. You have to remember that this is still a startup or startup vibes, and I know that culture isn't for everyone, so if you don't like wqorking in startups, you won't like Govini tbh. You do have to be sort of a self-starter, if you just sit in the back and don't take initiative, your days will kind of drag and you won't feel like you are making an impact, but once again I don't think thats a Govini thing, thats just most companies. Also it isn't really the best place for beginners, you do learn tons but you also do get thrown in the fire early and are expected to deliver early so that may be stressful to people. Also if you are one of those people who completely are against working extra hours sometimes or on the weekend at all, you might get annoyed at this company. The hours aren't anything too crazy tbh but there are times where we need to deliver and have to work, but most people here have great work ethic so this doesn't really bother them
