Pros
Remote option only because it was available by the business owner. Access to a program manager to vent out frustrations. Pay was okay.
Cons
Exhausting interviews. No realistic compatibility. The options of types of work you want to do are typical and no lane for other creatives. My worst experience overall was not being heard with disability and a frustrating business owner despite "matching up" computer processes. Most of the business owners did not know what they wanted out of the internship and had a lot of expectations on interns when in reality they need help from senior professionals in my opinion. The closing event felt very fake and it was boring. No realistic networking and a big generational difference made it difficult with businesses who don't believe in authentic remote work. For $20 an hour, some of these business owners were asking for way too much on an intern for four months and maybe 4 hours a day. Half the time the business owner gave me nothing to do so you don't get paid for the hours you don't work.
