Pros
The company will push you to get certifications and experience and is a great place to make connections with other companies and jurisdictions (which you can later jump ship to after you realize how bad of a working environment this place is).
Cons
If you ever wanted to feel like a cog in the corporate machine then GeoTek is the place for you! The main office is a textbook toxic work environment. They are always pushing you to work beyond the regular working hours and do things outside your job description with no compensation. The only time management will recognize you is for the mistakes you make which they will do it in the middle of the office for the whole company to see. The owner Ryne, while a good engineer and a prudent businessman, has no regard for the people underneath him and will not hide the fact that he values profit over his employees. Training is minimal at best and if you fail to grasp new concepts the first time you will not be deemed worthy of progressing through the company and be stuck doing grunt work till the day you leave. They aren’t subtle with favoritism either. While this may be a good place to start your career, it has no long term growth. Get in, get your connections/certifications, and get out.
