- LEARNING ENVIRONMENT: Best I've ever encountered. There is no stupid question here. Everyone is always willing to stop what they are doing to help you, and even if they can't help, you are never wrong to ask. The company's website even reflects this. When I first started, I was shocked that our website could potentially provide our "secrets" to our competitors or prospective clients. I was informed that Evolytics prides itself on being a transparent company with the goal of helping clients (even if it is to the point that we educate them so well that they don't need us anymore!). Evolytics encourages employees to spend 80% of their time working on billable client needs and the other 20% exploring projects or interests that they are passionate about. I have seen this in play for almost every employee-- be it writing articles for the blog, the implementation or production of a new tool, organization of office activities, A/B testing, machine learning, public speaking, conference attendance... Further, the company prides itself on the growth and knowledge of its employees, encouraging participation in conferences as well as pursuit of certifications. I personally was sent to a data visualization software training (that I had found and requested to go to) within my first 6 weeks here. I cannot imagine another company paralleling the multitude of growth opportunities that Evolytics has exposed me to (or encouraged my colleagues to pursue) within just my first two months. - TRAINING/ONBOARDING PROCESS: Excellent. The company is incredibly organized when it comes to training and on-boarding. I was given a checklist to complete, and set up with introductory meetings with each department, as well as a "mentor" to go to with any questions or concerns I had. Though many employees responsible for particular areas of learning were incredibly busy, my training remained a high priority to them; Training sessions are taken seriously and included follow ups to ensure understanding. I have learned more in my first two months here than I could have ever expected. - PEOPLE: This is truly a great company made of great people. Happy people fuel a positive work environment-- Everyone loves and is proud of the work that they do, and they are excited to share their learnings. This company is comprised of REAL people who are understanding when things come up and incredibly supportive of work/life balance. I think anyone in the company would stop what they were doing to help another coworker with a "fire drill" or take on a portion of their work load if a personal emergency arose. Evolytics is focused on the growth of individuals as well as overall industry goals (at present: machine learning) rather than micromanaging employees. This is truly an organization where projects are managed; not people, and universal goals are shared. - COMMUNITY: Everyone at Evolytics truly has each other’s back. Every Tuesday, the office attends Taco Tuesday (soon to be Rotating Cuisine Tuesday to mix things up), and every Thursday we celebrate "crock pot Thursdays" when shared meals provide a nice social break for the office. Everyone in the company is a "yes" person for the most part -- This definitely has a positive impact on the general "vibes" of the office; Everyone feels truly comfortable and welcome. Last year, the DAA awarded us the Top Analytics Agency of 2018 Award. To celebrate, the company went bowling my first week. The week afterwards, Evolytics sponsored the participation of one our team members (+ company tent) in the KC Royal BBQ Competition and awarded every employee two tickets to attend in support of him. These are just a few examples of the supportive, fun team environment the company strives to maintain (and within my first 2 weeks here!). GROWTH & GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES: The company is growing at an incredibly rapid pace. We have a broad range of clients that I am proud to say I work with. In the last two months, Evolytics has hired 5 new employees (myself included)—and they are still hiring. This is a great sign considering that retention seems high to me as well (many employees have been here since the company was founded 13 years ago). Employees are encouraged to prepare annual goals as well as discuss long-term goals they wish to achieve—and management/the office culture have proven to be incredibly supportive of whatever those goals may be. I haven’t been here very long, but I truly feel equipped with the tools and guidance to succeed.
