I have been working at Electronic Arts full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

great environment, you can bring your dog to work, take time to work out at the gym or play soccer on the pitch. smart goal oriented people. flexible hours. Nice cafeteria and cofeeshops inside campus. good benefits.

    Cons

Flexible hours can sometimes turn into working all the time. The game teams sometimes have crunch times that can mean weekend work.

    Advice to Management

Try to look at people's unique qualities rather than a headcount. offer more praise based on that. Going lean on headcount is a good business practice, but doing so at the expense of work life balance will create attrition.

I have been working at Electronic Arts full-time for more than a year

    Pros

*Different studios are different, this is just my experience in my studio - Pays above industry average - Has a lot of perks, potential for stock/bonuses depending on studio/company performance - Executive management is working on making it a better place across the organization EA gets a lot of crap from the outside, but overall as an organization they do a decent job and are genuinely taking steps to make things...

    Cons

    - Some studios could do a better job managing people and being honest with their project's statuses - There are some 'stars' who become detrimental to their teams because of personalities and ego - Their healthy snack selection is limited

    Advice to Management

    - Hold your studio leadership accountable. Be there to help them, be the people who they turn to when they are in trouble NOT just the people who come down on them when they are in trouble - Continue giving your studios resources for employees to be able to give feedback and make their locations better places to work - Provide healthier snack options :)
