Pros

The work was intellectually challenging with interesting R&D and engineering problems. There was much science and engineering to learn. Coworkers were friendly nice people.

Cons

Middle and senior management were promoted from within, therefore they lacked depth or breadth of technical skills. The CEO Cyrus Jilla was fired by the Board of Directors and the new CEO was hired from within. Their management skills were not developed by training nor were they mentored and they were very lacking in people skills with favouritism rife. Salaries in the UK are not up to international levels and they only pay competitive wages when they have no choice. There was little development of technical skills of the scientists or engineers. You were expected to learn from reading the literature. If your skills no longer fit or were useful to the company, you were forced out. There was little opportunity for advancement as there were few career paths available.

Pros

The facility is top notch, clean and beautiful. Lots of amenities for employees.

Cons

This facility is owned and operated by one of the most cut-throat companies in the world. While I was there I could immediately tell that it would turn ugly sooner or later. I was there when it was new, and company politics is so mainstream that people getting fired left and right is a norm. They also clearly show they don't care about people, just money and most higher ups don't actually know what they are doing. Also you will not get promoted, just pushed into the higher positions without a say and no pay adjustments.
