Pros

They hire anyone, so if it is "job" you need to fix a current situation. APPLY!

Cons

1. There is a reason the building this "company" resides in DOES NOT show their name on the outside ANYWHERE. 2. Being paid commission to sell general education classes that ONLY transferred into one of Distance Learning "partner colleges" 3. Consumers signing Retail Installment loan contracts at 21% interest rate NOT FAFSA (Federal Student loans/grants) because they are NOT accredited. Their "partner colleges" are accredited (most are anyway) but if the contract is terminated (which several have been) then the consumer/client is in debt from anywhere between $6,000 - $18,000 on general education classes. 4.These same classes can be taken at any community college for 1/3rd of the cost and utilizing FAFSA loans/grants. But we were to sell them a "guaranteed spot" in a Nursing program versus taking their chances at a local ground campus with very heavy requirements and limited available spots to enroll. What I heard being sold to these consumers was nothing short of LIES. While enrolled in these "general education classes at DLS" (which not 1 online teacher is located in the US) they had to start repaying for the loan. a)Example: Distance Learning monthly retail loan payments anywhere from $350 - $800/month for general education classes FREE down the street without being sold a guaranteed spot in the Nursing program. Then 80% of the nursing students are "on track" for a Florida school. This school is also, NOT accredited. So they will be paying out of pocket as they go. Nursing school tuition is $30,000 that has to be paid WHILE you are in Nursing school and before you can graduate. Plus, travel to FL 4 times in a year for weeks at a time. THIS info is being left out. THE more classes we sold - the more commission we made. There lies the problem. These consumers are uneducated and Distance Learning takes advantage of those individuals - puts them in consumer debt - and cannot guarantee what they promise. 5.Upper management: sleeps with employees/2 hr hotel lunch breaks, day drinking/drugs. The Director of Sales would do his Narcissistic walking through the call center with comments meant to be a warning for anyone who doesn’t drink the kool-aid. 6.Co-workers: petty, back stabbing, when you get paid by sell you already know the environment - they also bragged about trying to scare a previous employee from going to Dept. Of Education with her complaints, they said Director even called her ex-husband who she was currently divorcing to speak about her and cause issue to distract her from this mission. What kind of place of employment does this? 7.Salary alone will get you qualified for government assistance 8.DO not WORK or SIGN up for classes - NOTHING is guaranteed - they loose partnerships and you will be stuck with English/Math/Gov classes that you can only wipe your butt with the grade or relocate to an available option 9.THERES a REASON they DO NOT have their name on the building - they do not want to be found 10.Yes, my incoming hiring group was asked to go on Glass Door and give a glowing review about Distance Learning as well (like below) because “it will only help our sales to bury the truth I mean negative”

Distance Learning Systems Response

Distance Learning System's principal owns the building it resides in with multiple other companies. The reason the company’s name is not on the building as well as other companies in the building is simply because other tenants address a local audience and DLSI is a national company with very limited foot traffic. There are extreme misrepresentations in this review. Here is the reality of the program. DLSI is not a school and therefore does not offer FAFSA; however, multiple other financing options are available to students. Courses offered by DLSI are 100% online and are recommended by ACE for credit, so our university affiliates guarantee acceptance of DLSI courses that will apply to graduation requirements. DLSI has over 30 university affiliations, not one which was suggested. By virtue of these contractual affiliations, DLSI can offer a pathway to over 500 accredited degree programs. Students working with DLSI are taking classes that will transfer into a significant number of degree programs with some of the most esteemed universities throughout the United States that are affiliated with DLSI. DLSI payments are not $300 - $800/month. If fact, DLSI does not have a payment anywhere in that range. Monthly payments could be interest only to around $225/month depending on the number of classes taken. The average enrollment at DLSI is about $8,000 which represents approximately 1-year of university classes that represents a significant savings. There has never been a report to the company or any knowledge where a member of the management team slept with an employee and lunch hours are usually 1 hour. There is no drinking and certainly no drugs on premises. The DLSI workplace is a very professional environment. Everything DLSI offers is based on actual affiliations with accredited American colleges and universities and everything that is offered though DLSI is delivered. We are hopeful that anyone who reads this review will see the blatant misrepresentations. Should any organization operate the way this person suggested, it would not enjoy over a hundred positive reviews on Google with a 4.5 / 5.0 approval rating and rave reviews from its students.

Pros

If you like to "get over on others" or not sleep at night - then this is for you But they do allow you to drink on the job to overcome any guilt of selling unaccredited prerequisites to low-income individuals through a retail contract loan. 8 classes = $16,000 or FREE at IVY Tech? If you like to sleep with the boss - APPLY now!

Cons

The upper management that looks right through you when you call them out on their scam. The "Instructors" are not even in the country nor are they qualified.
