Whether you have worked a 12 hour day or a 50 hour week; you will be asked to come in during your time off to resolve problems. - Usually the problems arise because everything has been installed in the cheapest possible manner so the used equipment frequently fails. Not only cheap, the equipment has also been installed quickly with a minimal staff, so nothing makes sense logically. It's basically as if they were installing things to "make it work" for a night and now it is a permanent installation. - Hourly pay is quite low compared to industry standards, and you'll need to work a 2nd job or have a roommate to get by. But once again you will need to keep your schedule free as you will frequently be called in for work or maintenance days and they will find someone else if you can't come in. - Even if the equipment is operational, the producer has downsized the necessary staff to run the equipment, so operator errors are frequent. - The high turnover for all of the departments has also made it very difficult to find any sort of documentation on how anything runs, but that does not stop management from expecting you to have a complete understanding of the entire complex right away. People are treated as if they are morons if they can't run something, but there is no sort of standardized training for the company, so they are setting people up to fail right from the beginning.
