Pros

Everyone has varied and complementary skill sets, being a Texas Instruments Design Network Platinum Member means D3 is trusted by TI and gets handed some really advanced and cool projects. Their expertise includes motor and power control, digital video systems, machine vision, and even scientific instrumentation.

Cons

Sometimes the snack cabinet would run low for a week or so, but otherwise working at D3 Engineering was a great experience. I hope I can find a company like them after I move to a different city.

Pros

I can't think of anything really

Cons

This is a very small company with a lot of turnover and recent layoffs. Almost every month a couple of people leave or are laid off. The company has been getting less and less projects, and MANY contracts have been canceled by customers to the point of company faltering. People are laid off witout notice. Bad management, no marketing strategy, incompetent people in critical positions, and perhaps bad economy are to blame. You will see kids who just got out of school with senior titles running around; arrogant and incompetent at the same time. Overtime is expected even though they don't ask you explicitly. As others mentioned, favoritism is a big issue. You will get to work on a good project only if you're part of the cool kids club.
