I worked at Cancer Research UK full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Progressive organisation that's driven by a fantastic cause. They care about employee engagement and try to have open communication and lots going on for staff to get involved with. I personally had fantastic managers who supported my development.

Cons

Sometimes try to do too many new, exciting initiatives without making sure the basics are solid first, leading to staff feeling overwhelmed or frustrated.

I have been working at Cancer Research UK full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Working for a great cause and the people are wonderful. The location in London is in Angel, which is in the heart of Islington.

    Cons

Because it's a charity the salaries can be quite low. Being promoted can also be very political often times they will have people in mind who they want to be Heads and Senior Managers.

    Advice to Management

Management sometimes needs a reminder that we're one organisation and we all want to beat cancer sooner. There can be quite a big divide between the different directorates.
