Pros

This job was a graduate assistantship that I had while completing my master's degree. The schedule was flexible and I worked with people from my cohort, which meant that we spent a lot of time talking, joking, and having a good time. There was a lot of down time where I was able to work on my graduate school work, which helped a lot with balancing all of my responsibilities as a graduate student. The main responsibilities of the job are to answer the phone and help users of CFNC.org. During COVID-19 pandemic, organization sent us laptops so that we could work from home which allowed us to continue receiving our stipends.

Cons

Pay is low, but not abysmal by GA standards, and is paid out only once per month.

Pros

-People are very friendly for the most part -Good benefits package -Good amount of paid holidays -Decent/Middle of the road salary (does not match market rate but is not a cutthroat lowball rate either)

Cons

-Certain managers and supervisors have been with the company for decades yet don't push for innovation -Weak departmental management that does not build morale/bonds but instead create hostile working environments -Some supervisors that are unable to adequately do their job but are protected since they are friends with upper management -No executive oversight for departments which enables to essentially do what they want for the most part -Poor communication between departments and IT which creates rush deadlines and unnecessary pressure -Very cliquish environments within management which promotes unprofessional behavior and favoritism -Extremely high turnover in the IT department which cripples work flow and stagnates the cultivation of knowledge within the team -Very meager raises due to the company hiding behind the excuse that they are a non-profit
