Good benefits, poor internal development and marginal culture - Financial Analyst BorgWarner Employee Review

Pros

Excellent benefits (health insurance, gym subsidy, onsite workout facilities, charitable matching, and 401k matching). Management is hit and miss, but some of the VPs and Presidents are truly excellent.

Cons

Limited development opportunities, aging workforce, lack of technology adoption, and a massive internal cultural divide. Much of the company's leadership has been sourced from major OEMs like GM and Ford and that definitely shows in the culture. Conflict between middle management sourced from GM and middle management sourced from other, more dynamic companies is common. Work life balance can be improved, not uncommon to have 6:30 AM meetings or 10 PM meetings, but that is just the nature of the industry. Pay and PTO could be vastly improved. There is no real discernible effort to retain or develop young talent, which may actually be the biggest con.
