Pros

I learned a lot during my time at Arity

Cons

I left Arity because I did not respect or feel safe under the leadership that would have a direct influence on my career. Male executives on the engineering and data science teams conducted themselves inappropriately towards women at work. I witnessed and experienced a lot of this behavior, and it was egregious — comments on appearance, constant unwanted touching and flirtation, and an extra-marital relationship with a younger woman at the company. Everyone knew about it and talked about it. Women would exchange advice for how to handle it and try to find ways to understand or justify what was happening. On the outside it doesn’t seem that HR has taken any material action. It does not matter how much these people invest in women's careers or mentoring - as long as the company demonstrates that they are OK with these behaviors in leaders, Arity will be a toxic work environment for women. At Arity and at every company, we cannot afford to protect and promote people who do not conduct themselves with integrity and respect towards others. The women at Arity deserve better from their leaders.
