Pros

The only pro is that you get to work with Android Police, nothing more.

Cons

There are so many cons, that I am sure many would have experienced working with Android Police: 1. Someone's review on Glassdoor mentioned their CMS is clunky, which is so true. The CMS is something straight from Mars and it requires so much input from the writer that sometimes you forget what you have to do. 2. You have to constantly refer to the guidelines because there are so many changes done every week, and you are expected to be up to date with all the changes. 3. The editors just want the writers to not only perform their self-duties but the job of editors as well. If there are some changes, it is the job of the editors to tweak the article and publish it. You can't expect a writer to be a researcher, writer, reader, publisher, editor, and image editor all in one. If there is a post of an editor over a writer, then editors should do their jobs. 4. The pay is not up to the mark. Besides, they pay you 15 days after your work has been published. What bulls**t is this? between those 15 days, you don't have much work, so in a month, all you make is a few hundred dollars. 5. If an article is expected to have 25% edit, then the editors should stick with 25% edit. How can you expect a writer to completely tweak the article and get only 25% pay?

Pros

Some great minds in the editorial staff and everyone is friendly, available, and focused on the actual subject matter of the coverage. I've learned a lot in my time here.

Cons

Although not a corporation, the corporate nature of Valnet, the owner, leads to rapidly shifting priorities sometimes. Thankfully the editorial side of things is not micromanaged like some sites with larger ownership groups.

Pros

Remote work is the only one

Cons

Used to be pretty good, but rates have been slashed by more than half but the expectations only go up. The editorial standards are also a little ridiculous. The editor doesn’t catch any major factual errors, but makes the more insignificant changes to give you a high edit score.
