Pros

Not much - travel was to small towns with $35/day of per diem. Built up rewards points on my credit card and travel rewards programs but had to use my personal credit card to front the costs of travel.

Cons

There is no room for growth. You are expected to work long hours to answer client questions and even if you stay late, they expect you to be at work and in your seat at 8 am. You’re required take after hours UNPAID calls and work on any emergencies. So this meant, taking your computer everywhere during the time you’re on call or staying at home to work. Travel 50-60% of the time if you’re good at your job with very little per diem and to small towns. You have to front the cost of the trip on your personal credit card for reimbursement after the trip was done. Work hours are long and clients are regularly upset about the program not working. Management is not present. You rarely see them. They’re often in their offices and don’t interact. They lack vision and often seems like they’re unable to say no. A customer funded their initial buyout and that customer has this company on chains.

Pros

The small company aspects allows for management to take feedback from you and potentially put it into action. The company puts their faith in you and gives you opportunities to be a Project Manager even right out of college. Excellent place to build experience in professional customer service, Microsoft SQL, and problem solving skills. Always coming up with different ways to continue to boost moral and make it a fun working environment. The ability to travel all over North America to train or implement the software is a wonderful perk as well. The software is always growing and changing which creates new challenges that keeps the position from being mundane.

Cons

The software is incredibly dense which creates a learning curve. It can be difficult to be patient as getting to know the software well is going to take time.
