Pros

Excellent building to work in. The canteen offers a massive range of food, freshly cooked. There are several places to go if you need a break, including a small coffee shop at the top of the building. You are encouraged to take time out, with the company offering many talks from outsiders, yoga classes, dry cleaning, a hairdresser etc. Company shop is excellent. Many options to better yourself with courses you can book yourself in to. A diverse range of people and skills. Senior management approachable. Transparent weekly huddles to let staff know how the company is performing. Employees tend to stay once they are in. Encouraged to move around and change roles to learn different areas of the business. Would work there again as the benefits are brilliant.

Cons

Many of the roles are very high pressure to save money, hence the company benefits to compensate for mental health. There are some characters that have worked there for years that are known for bullyboy tactics and that is overlooked due to them being great at their job. In my 2 years there I saw many people crying due to the pressure and being spoke to quite badly, resulting in flurries of people leaving. You can be at the company years, absolutely brilliant at your iob, and meet all your targets, but if you don't put your face around and purposefully socialise with top management, promotions are denied. It's part of the "asda way".
