Pros
I typically do not write online reviews. Personally or professionally. A coworker told me to check out the buzz about API on Glassdoor, so I did. While I can tell some of the more constructive reviews are from those who care about the company and the reviews honest, there are many, especially in the last two weeks that sound, not only similar, but negative and not constructive in anyway. Therefore, here is what API has done for me and my experience working here. I have been with API for 9 years, I started as an hourly employee making $18.00 an hour. I am now well over 100K+ a year. I have had the opportunity to have many mentors. Mentors who have given me skills that make me employable now and in the future. I receive 10-15 solicitations a week for job interviews. During that time, I have had two children and a mix of health issues. API has stood by me every step of the way. When I tell my manager something is going on, they don’t tell me, they force me to leave and focus on myself or family. No questions asked. Then my team members jump in and make sure there are no gaps. In fact, once when I was in the hospital, my manager and coworkers were there before my own wife. Those are facts that happened to myself. I am in a better place for working at API.
Cons
The company has changed a lot, it is transformed from its old culture to a more modern friendly culture. Previous execs and managers did not allow flex time, work from home or casual attire that has all been change by new management. No management team is perfect, but at least at API, they have heart and will work with you. You have to be willing to work with them too.
