Toxic culture, dying office - Automation solutions Calgary.

- Large scale projects - Good work/life balance.
Cons
-Horrible company culture, its a toxic environment to work in. People in this office spend more time managing office politics than doing their actual work. You name it, I've seen it here ; the gossip hounds, the credit thief, the a** kissers, the saboteurs. Everything runs by favouritism, which means only the a** kissers keep their jobs. The company is split into factions and you have to chose camps. - Leadership has no vision and is reactive to the economical situation. Your job here is never secure because every few years the office has a major dry spell and there are always major lay offs. Loyalty to this company is not rewarded (people working here for 20+ years are easily laid off). - This company is all about the bottom line. People are not valued. - Projectized organisation matrix - project managers have way too much power and they abuse it to serve their own interests. - No collaborative work culture. Everyone is in it for themselves.

Pros
Work life balance is good Benefits are good Coworkers are generally ok
Cons
Lots of processes...this company can make a procedure out of making a paper airplane, upper management will debate about it for more than 3 months, then turn around and ask why things are taking so long. When you are stuck on something, management will ask you to come up with solutions, proposals, then finally a recommendation for them...then they will ask you to provide progress reports on the implementation of said recommendation. So why do we need management if they are so “helpful”? Management is overbearing and feels the need to micromanage every detail. People are afraid to exercise any creativity in this company...toe the line and stay in your cube, and you will have a long and prosperous career. Management doesn’t care about employees, during the pandemic we were told in no uncertain terms that WFH is not a replacement for childcare and that you are expected to still have the same productivity as the world was ravaged by the pandemic. The company’s whole desire was to get employees back to the building as fast as possible to cater to a now retired CEO who sounded so much like Donald Trump. Btw vaccine wasn’t even available when they started ushering us back in. Finally quite a few lifers were laid off so shareholders can be happy...this company lays off people quickly when the economy downturns only to hire in new ones later...no long term plan in sight...just panic.

Work Culture at Emerson
Oct 29, 2021 - Engineer L2 in Mohali, PunjabRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The work culture is pro employees and the work life balance is really good at this company.
Cons
For new joinees or Interns I would say it is not the ideal place to work at because there is a particular comfort zone that you get into and it is difficult to get out of that comfort zone. The formative years of your career should be where you learn a lot and get make the most of the time you have.
- Former Employee, more than 8 years★★★★★
Pros
Employees are equipped with trainings to keep up to date with current skills needed, and to grow their knowledge in their field of expertise. Management is concern with employees welfare , ready to listen thru townhall meetings. Benefits are enough for employees not to complain. Have work -life balance environment.
Cons
Salary is not that high but competitive.

Management has to learn how to retain employees
Aug 12, 2021 - Tech Lead in PuneRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
1. Good work culture. 2. Work life balance. 3. Flexible time to work. 4.Being a very small company in Pune has good diversity of projects. 5. Good Culture and team bonding is good in almost all the projects. 6. In few areas Emerson has good command over it's competitros.
Cons
1. Management always thinks that they are right all the time. It's a myth. 2. Emerson Consider itself as a product based companies but compare itself to CTS, TCS Infy rather than with some product companies like Siemens. 3. Pathetic employee retention policy. 4. Being a small company of 1000 Employees Attrition rate is more than 20% on average. 5. HR thinks that their average pay is more than industry but still they don't able to retain employees. 6. Emerson also can't hire employees as they think Salary expectation is higher. 7. Leave policy is one of the worst in the entire industry, you can't club Sick leave and Casual leave together. Cl+PL not allowed, You can't take 2 days Casual leave, if you are more than 3 days on leave you have to take paid leave even if you have more balance in SL and CL. 8. Unnecessary trainings which doesn't add any value to core projects. 9.Too much micro management for simple things which must be avoided at the very place. 10. Too much process oriented, in everything they think they have to go by the book, which is good in pen and paper but in reality it doesn't work most of the time.

Mediocre place to work. Maybe a good place for a new grad.

-Depending on the group, good work environment. -Depending on the group, really variable work as in you might get to work on a bunch of different projects throughout the year. -Good work life balance, almost never worked more than 40 hours a week.
Cons
-Low pay compared to other companies in the area. -Average Benefits. -Old School thinking (if you're not in your chair working, you're not really working. Also working from home is insane!)
- Former Employee, more than 5 years★★★★★
Pros
good to work as a corporate employer
Cons
1. Not good package and salary growth 2. Slow career growth 3.Managers have there own rule inside there team and has to follow through, these rule vary by teams 4.no social life inside work place, managers give comments if we make any friends and talk to them, even if you are very good t work. 5.no work-life balance, may have to do extra shifts anytime with no allowance. 6.Rules written in the handbook are given as if they are meant to break by managers like cant apply for allowance because the manager doesn't approve 7. yearly review is all depend on manager and his comments despite how u work the whole year
