Hard to keep younger employees engaged

      Pros

The company offers good benefits for the employees Facilities are good, including restaurant Flexibility for home office, hours, holidays as long as you deliver Salaries are competitive

      Cons

Not too innovative lack of consistency on company objectives, tend to change objective every year which makes it complicated to go all towards the same direction decision making tends to be slow but at the same time expect quick results Very old fashion in several areas, they listen to new ideas but they are hardly implemented. There is no proper onboarding process, too hard for consultants to understand Electrolux culture

Dynamic international environment, limited career development options

      Pros

      Dynamic international environment, diverse teams

      Cons

Slow decision making, not optimal IT processes Difficult to advance and/or move cross-functionally and create a career path (the vision is there, but in practice there is more internal move among top management than among middle layers and younger workforce )

Not a Good Fit for Continuous Improvement Zealots or Lean Thinkers

      Jan 24, 2017 - Anonymous Employee

      Pros

Generally speaking there's a pretty decent sense of family amongst many bright, friendly employees. I liked the people I worked with. Generous employee discount program.

      Cons

      1. Disconnect between accountability and authority. A matrix org structure with pockets of incompetence in both the functional as well as line leadership roles, coupled with confusion about which role is accountable for results and decision making, yields very messy outcomes for employees below. The result is that very smart people just "keep their head down" so problems get blamed on someone else. 2. The Definition of Insanity is the rule of the day. The culture is such that nobody ever stops to ask if there's a better way -- if we're not getting good results, just keep doing what we're doing, only harder or faster. If you have any kind of background in continuous improvement methodology, this company will not be a good fit for you. This doesn't mean it's a bad company -- it just might be a tough environment for you if you're a lean thinker. People really struggle with change here, more-so than I've seen elsewhere, perhaps because of #1 above, where, as a defense mechanism, they've nestled into their fiefdoms and associated set ways.
