    Pros

Employee discount was decent. The store was an ok enviroment to work in. Not much else to note.

    Cons

"On calls" with no pay... hardly any hours available... Shifts were usually 4 hours. Keeping track of sales goals made employees hostile and deceitful. Forced to push credit card applications onto people in unsolicited manner.

    Pros

Generous employee discount. Good compensation for experience level. Company has strong connection to the outdoor industry. If you have a passion for the out doors and service company is an ideal match.

    Cons

Maintaining a work life balance with young children is nearly impossible for me with a longer commute to work. As with all retailers, payroll is tight requiring managers to come in later in morning and stay later at night.

Not a bad place to spend a year or three.

    Pros

Good hours during holiday/sale seasons and decent pay for a basic retail position. A quite generous employee discount to encourage "branding" of sales associates, coupled with an actual interest in getting products tested in the real world. Management also had a sincere concern for working around student schedules.

    Cons

Hours based on "force ranking" which frequently results in more employee metagaming than actual performance evaluation. Promotion from within was fairly rare, with most non-associate positions being filled by new hires. Store hours severely limited, resulting in frequently limited staff on site.

I have watched this company go from great to embarassing in five years.

    Pros

Still good product, great employee discounts, awesome coworkers.

    Cons

Hours of staffing have been cut, which has created unsafe work conditions. Sales have dropped because there are no sales associates free to help, stock is not getting to the floor to be sold, product is being stolen because doors cannot be watched, and the store looks horrible.

I enjoyed working here for two years, but there weren't any opportunities to advance.

    Pros

The biggest pro is the employee discount, even on clearance merchandise.

    Cons

After two years of excellent performance reviews and being named associate of the district twice, I only received a 24 cent raise.

    Pros

    - Starts you at higher than minimum wage. - Flexible scheduling. - Excellent employee discount and offers.

    Cons

    - My store was not very busy, but I imagine this is heavily dependent on location. - Many of EB's customers are older(again, perhaps this is due to location), which can make it difficult to relate to customers if you are young.

    Pros

They offer a nice employee discount.

    Cons

Everything is about money. How much money you can make them, how much money they expect you to bring in, and how to act in order to sell their brand. They expect a lot from their sales associates, but do not provide above minimum wage. Reviews are not often, so a raise is not coming soon.
