I have been working at EY (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    The Culture
good benefits, flexible working environment, better than other Big 4 firms
    The People
great to work with, high expectations but very fair.

    Cons

Support for technology is lacking, they are trying but coming up short. Just got rid of Lotus notes about a year ago. They still require paper expense reports with photocopied receipts.

The hours during busy season! They ask too much of their employees with families/lives outside of work.

I have been working at EY full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of staff functions and lunch dates, competitive salary based on experience, opportunity for advancement with designation, ability to work on variety of files

    Cons

Long hours but that is more industry related than anything. Path to advancement in the firm is not clearly outlined for starting staff. Training is marginal at best.

    Advice to Management

Transparency in the employee evaluation criteria needs to be improved

    Pros

They make an effort to ensure that you have work/life balance. They promote inclusiveness and diversity, and are great in supporting charities. The mentor program helps steer you in the right direction in your career, and they're very supportive in helping you find what you enjoy doing. The international exchange program is great, it allows you to try working in a different environment and on a different team, but still have the security of working in the firm. I love the summer floater days, and the extra "personal days" on top of the minimum 3 week vacation.

    Cons

Sometimes the work is tedious and the hours are long.

    Advice to Management

Nothing, they're doing a great job.
