I have been working at EY full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good learning opportunity
    Friendly colleagues
    Vibrant culture

If you enjoy this environment and will stay for many years even after ready the Cons below. Your life is more or less set ( probably better than most bankers) in time to come

    Cons

Gone are the days when auditors are highly sought after when they exit from Big 4s

You dont get treated seriously and ur hardwork gets taken for granted solely because everyone is putting in 100% of the efforts.

Good learning opportunity if you can stand the culture , it ‘s very hands on and you get thrown to the wild all the time in the first 2 years. Mentorship and guidance is minimal because ur seniors are very busy themselves.

Good to stay for 2-3 years but if you take into account the total pay , it ‘s considerably lesser than most of the graduate roles in the market even after you have reached senior. Yes it does look good on your resume but not in terms of pay as auditors are generally paid poorly in the first 4 years.

It ‘s definitely fulfilling to be in big 4 , but the return you get puts u in the position of being the “farmer in the working world”.

Last thing , the hours are really bad , please think thrice before coming in.

    Advice to Management

Hire more ppl , pay them more and give ur scapegoats more benefits. They really deserve alot more for the amount of effort put in. , You dont want your employees to foresake you when it comes to the tipping point.

Being energetic and care less about our pay in our early career doesnt give you the right to exploit your staffs. Being in big 4 is sometimes not very glamourous in front of our relatives and friends.
