I have been working at EY full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The culture is truly great at the London location. I feel like I am part of a big family. The summers are slow, and are good for catching up on personal lives.

    Cons

In terms of career development, it's hit or miss. If you get lucky to be put on a prioritized team with senior managers coaching you on site, then you will go far within EY as well as beyond EY. If you get put on small jobs with managers who are at the bottom of the pool, then you might be invisible to the partners and the firm as a whole.

    Advice to Management

Do something about talent retainment. It's heartbreaking to see the good managers leave one after the other.

    Pros

Exposure to various clients, you can wish to choose which industry to go into, great learning opportunity in how businesses work, get to meet great people, you get to keep all credit card points for expenses incurred, phone bill is partially covered

    Cons

Long hours especially in busy season - you basically have no weekend or evenings to yourself, sometimes work can get repetitive, clients don’t like you lol cuz you're always bugging them for support

    Advice to Management

Pay us for busy season hours……………...

  7. "Amazing people - super flexible and supportive culture; love the experiences outside of work to meet other people"

    Pros

Big brand and recognizable world wide. Potential opportunities to do assignments in other countries. Large organization leads to pooling of resources and materials.

    Cons

High turnover, mostly everyone overworked leading to satisfactory level of work quality. Staff can be political and will not take time to train junior staff. Too much bureaucracy with admin staff who are extremely political and will not accommodate staff unless they see self gain.

    Advice to Management

Inflexible admin staff leads to more tiresome bureaucratic activities which harbors less time spent doing activities which matter. Admin's function is to help or support staff to facilitate a fluid experience for all.

I have been working at EY full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Lots of perks, nice facility.

    Cons

The GPS practice ton at the top in the DC area is hostile. In a nut shell they encourage gossip and that use it against performance reviews. The benefits are not the best wither for a Big 4 and moving from one service line to another is almost impossible in the GPS service line. They claim work life balance and is far from the truth and I have heard it form many of my peers. Once you get in they will use working from home against you in the event of an emergency on your performance review and they just will not allow it.

    Advice to Management

You will find yourself in a law suit if you do not change the GPS cultural environment is the worse environment I have ever worked for.
