I worked at EY full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Experience for future jobs down the line. Tremendous learning opportunity for new staff entering the accounting industry. Strong pay right out of university.

    Cons

The job can be overwhelming at times and does not provide a good work to life balance. This was much easier to handle before I started a family.

    Advice to Management

    None

I have been working at EY full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Young and motivating work environment full of intelligent people who are willing to help you learn and succeed if you bring a good attitude.

    Cons

Work life balance can be a struggle. If you are placed on a client that requires a lot of work or travel you will be expected to work a lot of hours.

Ratings system dictates pay, which is good in theory, but if your manager doesn't speak up for you then it is unlikely you will get a high rating.

    Advice to Management

Make flexibility a firm-wide priority. It is your responsibility to ensure your employees stay healthy and happy while working for your firm.

    Amazing employees
    Valuable experience

    Cons

Too little pay. It is literally the only con with the assurance practice. Very few people would have the desire to leave if they were paid more.

    Advice to Management

    Pay more.
