      Pros

Really good benefits which are employer paid; in some areas of the company there is room for growth

      Cons

Very poor work/life balance in management positions; lots of ups and downs in staffing levels where salaried staff is often terminated rather than of laid-off; lots of talk about the importance of safety, however production numbers are of greater priority than safety

      Pros

Coffee and juice provided by company

      Cons

Bad shift work schedule causing a garbage work/life balance. Due to the short turn around time (2 or 3 days) between day shift and night shift your days off are spent sleeping, trying to rearrange your sleep pattern so you don't fall asleep at work. Long probation period - 960 worked hours, typically takes around 6 months to achieve. New hires are fearful of losing their job so they don't ask questions or raise safety concerns out of fear. Union - due to the plant being union, there is a lack of initiative in the employees as there is no incentive to do better because it does not affect your standing with the company and cannot be punished for doing a bad job. Safety - Some sort of mask should be mandatory due to the air quality in the shops, as there is very little ventilation. Poor planning of some stations causes a significant amount of hazards that are easily remedied if anyone actually cared. Long shifts - 12 hour days make for an extremely long day, especially when working 3 in a row and only getting 2 days off in between your next cycle of shifts. Management - Supervisors seemingly like to powertrip and write people up for no reason. They will spy on employees and plot out how they are going to punish them for small infractions, but will order an employee to go against safety rules, and if an employee refuses, they will be looked at with much more scrutiny. Broken equipment - Not a day went by when a vital piece of equipment went down due to lack of maintenance. Because the shop runs 24 hours a day, much of the equipment does not get cleaned until it breaks down and is shut down for 2-3 days. the phrase "we're done in an hour...let B shift do it" was overheard many times when requesting a simple fix - Such as a flipped breaker being reset.
