    Advice to Management

I worked at Drake International full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A small office can be family-like, friendly and open.

    Cons

Leadership is lacking - look at the turnover in the last five years.
Technology is cumbersome and outdated. Half the job is administrative.
Slow moving - don't change with the times.
No real understanding how the different regions/offices are different and the challenges they face.

    Advice to Management

    Chris,

While I appreciate the response, it comes over a year later and a lot has
    changed in a year.

Shortly after my initial review, the environment in the office changed quite
dramatically. The focus changed from being service and people centric to
the main focus being bottom line dollars. While I understand that this is a
business, it is a people business and when people are no longer the focus
the vibe in the office changes for the worse.

As far as the update on technology...I was told that new systems were being
implemented “very soon” before I was even hired (2016).

The recruiting industry has changed (and continues to change) and while I
do wish Drake every success, they are not changing quickly enough and seem
to be always a step behind.

I'm not sure when you left the company. Your frustration is quite obvious - changes were promised and didn't happen or didn't happen fast enough.

    Pros

Great team, great visibility and people committed to the branch success. We have room to take some initiatives.

    Cons

Salary couldn't be less. Their variable compensation system is absolutely ridiculous and based on old business models. We attain objectives, but don't get the bonuses for reasons like "you didn't spend enough" which makes it frustrating for competitive employee.

    Advice to Management

Change the compensation / incentives system

I have been working at Drake International full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Large, stable company. Founder and CEO is a dedicated man who is passionate about his company.

    Cons

Drake seems to hire a certain "type" for their full time employees, with only a few exceptions. I have never worked anywhere where I disliked most of my colleagues. People make the work environment a positive or negative place, and Drake is 90% negative. My own work ethic dictates that I treat others with due respect, try not to jump to conclusions, do not purposely try to make others look bad, play as a team, keep my ego in check, offer help, share knowledge, respond promptly, and not waste others' time. Nearly all my fellow Drake employees constantly do the exact opposite of all these basic professional things. They also ignore professional development and career advancement for anyone who is not part of their core recruiting business. You will be stuck in the same job your entire career with no pay raises, so negotiate a decent salary up front. Everyone tells the CEO what they think he wants to hear, so of course he is out of touch, though well-intentioned.

    Advice to Management

Change the P3 profile you are using to screen people to weed out the negative, unprofessional, egotistic people.
