I worked at Disneyland Resort part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Magical and fun atmosphere Free or discounted Disney theme park admission Discounts on Disney merchandise and other perks and benefits

    Cons

Below living wage salary Hard work and long hours even for "part time" employees No benefits for part time employees even though many work close to full time Expected to work every weekend, every holiday including Thanksgiving, Christmas and ever other major holiday Lack of upward mobility. Really as a entry level Cast Member best you can hope for is maybe getting trainer or lead unless you have a college degree and even then getting into a management position would be tough. A lot of competition.

I have been working at Disneyland Resort part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Coworkers and management are friendly and care for employee well-being. Always approachable when it comes to issues that arise. Fun work environment Free access to theme parks and discounts available year-round, extra for the holidays. Exclusive cast member events. Lots of room to grow upward in the company.

    Cons

In parades, the schedule is always changing every couple of months depending on which shows are running and what you are cast in. It can produce a lot of anxiety when it comes to planning your life and income. However, some shows occur at night after 6pm and all occur on the weekends, so it is possible to make the schedule work with a 9-5 job. Just depends on operation needs.

I have been working at Disneyland Resort part-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Disney offers tremendous benefits and perks far beyond anything I have seen from other corporations. Disney works around your personal and family schedule in an attempt to keep its cast members happy.

    Cons

You have to deal with rude and obnoxious guests who think that their ticket or annual pass entitles them to abuse the cast members and the cast members must continue to smile and present a false "happy attitude" in the face of racial and other abuses.

I have been working at Disneyland Resort full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good benefits. Friendly people to work with.

    Cons

The company does not care about you. You are treated like chattel and considered to be easily replaceable. Despite the Company’s outward appearance of being focused on guest safety, the scheduling practices and insistence on quantity over quality forces the cast members to provide less guest happiness in favor of higher tide counts.

I have been working at Disneyland Resort full-time for less than a year

    Pros

-Free entry into Disneyland for most days of the year -Your fellow cast members are gonna be like your family -You're busy all day -Free beverages (fountain drinks, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate)

    Cons

-For Fantasyland/Toontown Quick Service Food and Beverage, the management needs improvement (hardly talked to them, they seem disinterested, they seemed to favor the cashiers, etc.) -It's really gross to clean up half eaten food and vomit -It's very hard to transfer out of and extremely hard to get full time hours

I worked at Disneyland Resort part-time for more than a year

    Pros

I loved the atmosphere and my fellow cast members. I also loved interacting with the guests. I was provided with excellent training and taught how to troubleshoot my camera equipment. I was very fortunate to work in a department that had excellent leads and managers. It was a great experience.

    Cons

You will work in full sun. Sunscreen can only provide so much protection so be aware if you are at risk of skin cancer. Wear the hat and hydrate.
