I worked at Disneyland Resort part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Magical and fun atmosphere Free or discounted Disney theme park admission Discounts on Disney merchandise and other perks and benefits

    Cons

Below living wage salary Hard work and long hours even for "part time" employees No benefits for part time employees even though many work close to full time Expected to work every weekend, every holiday including Thanksgiving, Christmas and ever other major holiday Lack of upward mobility. Really as a entry level Cast Member best you can hope for is maybe getting trainer or lead unless you have a college degree and even then getting into a management position would be tough. A lot of competition.

I have been working at Disneyland Resort full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Complimentary theme park admission. Discounts on merchandise, hotels, and other Disney experiences. Disney will pay for your college education. Mostly positive environment.

    Cons

Seniority based: starting out, you little hours. The pay is getting better, but you might still struggle.

"Quality of appreciation for cast members is lacking"

I worked at Disneyland Resort part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Lots of customer service experience, perks aren’t that bad (you can go in the park for free and can sign up to 3 people in once your probabtion ends), you can make really great friends

    Cons

Management likes to side with the guests most of the time despite you being mistreated. Guests can be ridiculous with their demands sometimes (ie. asking to be exempt from the fast pass rules when they’re 4 hours late or asking for a refund when one of the rides go down). Some of the cast members bring so much high school drama into work it’s stupid

I worked at Disneyland Resort full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

-free entry into all parks with sign ins. Can pretty much go anytime you want. -meet amazing people (coworkers and guests) -once in a lifetime experiences -somewhat easy depending on where you work -fulfilling in ways because you can make huge impacts on people’s lives and many times can feel rewarding -felt safe to work there -401k and the usual benefits.

    Cons

-management can be really bad. At times felt like I was back in HS again... -hard to move up the chain as favoritism is a thing. -pay is not great at all for the type of work some cast members do especially for the hours they demand. -it can be a demanding job.

I worked at Disneyland Resort part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Free admission (which they are blocking more and more often) Free Parking (30-45 min shuttle ride) Interesting people, cast members and guests alike You learn to have a thick skin and if you make it out, you have tools for anything that comes your way.

    Cons

Not even remotely liveable wage. They expect you to be available at the beck and call. If you say no when they call you on your day off, they hold it against you. You are expected to accept "forced" overtime and still maintain a happy smile. The managers that stay in the area they hired in at 9 out 10 times, should never have become managers and take it out on the cast.

I worked at Disneyland Resort part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The perks were amazing. Working alongside fun cast members was a plus too. It was always a pleasure meeting the nice and appreciative guests.

    Cons

The pay wasn’t all that great. Peak season was awful, especially having to endure extreme weather conditions. Some days were better than others.
