    Pros

Vacation, work life balance, training, office environment, office location, flexible benefits, long term incentives, bike facilities, excellent fitness facility

    Cons

Calgary is not the head office. Possible remote management. Tons of organizational change in a very short time which has led to outstanding inefficiencies and frustrations. Less perceived opportunity living in Calgary compared to OKC.

    I worked at Devon Energy

    Pros

Significant focus on following the corporate values, doing what is right, high level of integrity, etc. Reviews the impact on people as part of the decision process. A focus on team and collaboration. Effort to pay slightly better than industry average. Wanting to be viewed as a industry leader and tried to have processes to back it up. Big focus on health and work life balance, Great corporate gym with gym facilities at Jackfish too.

    Cons

Local management sometimes played a 'political game' with Sr. Management in Oklahoma. KPI's were not well defined to encourage productivity improvements. In some instances the team collaboration impacted productivity as some newer managers didn't fully trust / empower the team. Calgary staff were very approachable at all levels but in the US, you had to be a VP to talk to another VP mentality - very title driven in the US.

    Cons

Somewhat unstable now, company is more trouble than is commonly known. Very little opportunity for career advancement beyond 7 years experience. Massive demographics issues, 55 yrs+ median age in G&G. Pay + LTI is in bottom quartile.
