    Pros

-Willing to hire people with little experience, if qualifications are semi-relevant
    -High profile projects
    -Hard working and friendly colleagues
    -Culturally very diverse workforce
    -Good character/confidence building experience
-Get some experience if you need it, then get out ASAP. (See cons for reasons why!)

    Cons

-No work/life balance: you are expected to give up your personal life to serve the company
-Deadline is more important than you: you are expected to get things done on time no matter how long it takes you. 10-12 hour shifts, weekend work, after hour emails not unheard of
-Work can take long because the company has outdated tools and methods
-Senior management is disconnected from the front line and makes decisions without knowing the company's own capabilities - it's the blind leading the seeing
-Politics: a lot of buck passing between departments and offices in general
-Pay doesn't scale with responsibilities: you will be asked to do more and more, with no raises
-Very high stress. People get burned out and sick. You become physically exhausted and can get some serious health issues from working too much.

    Advice to Management

No advice is needed - they are aware of all the cons listed and know how to fix them. This is not a question of ignorance, it's a question of will. Their actions tell you where their priorities are, or are not. It's part of the company culture that comes from the very top. I'll borrow Steve Jobs' advice for management:

"The company is like a sinking ship, and your job is to point it in the right direction."

Just try not to lose everyone on board before you reach the destination.

    Cons

    - Constant stress and people on sick leave all the time

    Pros

Loved the actual work I was doing. Good place for anglophone editors to start their career, but I don't recommend staying for longer than a year or two. Decent health care.

    Cons

Worked there for four years with no raise or bonuses despite being given more and more responsibilities, terrible management, morale is super low, employees are overworked and underpaid, high turnover rate.

    Advice to Management

Nurture your senior employees instead of just waiting for them to quit and training others to avoid ever giving raises.

    Pros

Positive work environment, wonderful people from all over, occasional staff event, benefits is good once you've gotten it

    Cons

Pay is not impressive. No raises, permanency only usually at 2 years, no sick days or benefits until then. Office itself not in the best condition. Can work long hours, often feels like bucketing out water in a leaking boat.

    Advice to Management

Need to treat and take care of employees better, particularly ones they've trained. A lot of training goes to waste. Poor organization in many departments. Not

I worked at Deluxe Entertainment full-time

    Pros

Deluxe is a good name to put on a resume. Used to be an ok place to learn about the industry.

    Cons

A dark corner of the film industry. Little to no leadership or training provided and survives with a sink or swim mentality. A corporation that makes you feel like you are just a number. Low pay with little to no chance for advancement and less than cost of living wage increases. High turnover is a result of lack of respect for the employees who choose to work here. There is little to no innovation or proactive decision making. What was once an interesting turn of the century place to work is now a run down, and dated facility that operates like a sweatshop. Good experienced employees have kept this place on its feet, but there are only a few left.

    Advice to Management

Respect is earned. Value your good employees.
