Current Intern - Intern in Stuttgart

I have been working at Daimler for less than a year

    Pros

It certainly depends on the department and team you are in, however, if you show drive and commitment as an intern, normally you will be rewarded by gaining more responsibility and freedom in your role. I received two new projects I was able to work on. Further, colleagues in my department seemed open and were helpful. The chances of getting an offer after having interned for Daimler are high, considering you showed high performance.

    Cons

At the end, it is a huge company with a lot of silos, hierarchies, and politics. You should be aware of that when joining. Change moves slowly and your suggestions or well-meant feedback might not be met with enthusiasm. I was lucky in my team but I also heard that in some cases interns are not challenged, receive daily copy-paste tasks. Learning can be stagnant.

Besides having Daimler at your CV, you can use the experience as a learning tool. The automotive industry is a very complex industry, where supply and deadlines play a big role. Each day you learn something new. You need to adapt rapidly to new circumstances, in order to be critical on each issue.

    Cons
