"Just a number within a very crooked company"

    Pros

Has exclusive perks such as... gym memberships, phone plan discounts other hidden privileges set in place to make life just a little easier.

    Cons

Terrible Management...Most Supervisors are under-qualified for the positions in which they hold; according to the managers they're ALWAYS right no matter the situation. Workers are treated as peasants with zero input or opinion; Supervisors are family and friends of the family meaning you have to be mindful of what you report out fear of losing your job. Very Political if this person doesn't like that person every worker is affected. Little to no opportunity for advancement; only promotions and upgrades are given to family and friends of the family. There are "zero" pay raises I've worked my position for 3 years with "promises" of pay raises until I had to go over the chain of command and straight to the CEO and even then I was at risk of losing my job. The pay is next to minimum wage and you are basically forced to work overtime just to make ends meet. Once your locked in there's absolutely no time for things outside of work such as family and well-being.At this company everyone is just a number some last 10+ years others last 10 days

An overall decent place to work, with a few drawbacks

    Pros

Friendly small-office environment, growing company that continues to expand, a remote office in Greensboro, NC, and very diverse experience with a vast variety of projects

    Cons

Very high employee-turnover rate, employees have little say in what projects they will be put on and where they will be working (sometimes out-of-state), medical is the only employee-paid benefit (employees pay extra for family), no 401K matching for any employees, complaints that upper management micro-manages too much, but this aspect has improved from about a year ago

    Pros

Working full time hours for reasonable pay in relation to experience. Co-workers and supervisors work well together. Overall good company benefits.

    Cons

Customer base tends to be difficult to handle. Actions include attempted theft, theft, and relentless bargaining on pre-set company prices.

    Feel Like a Number

Jan 16, 2012 - Project Manager in Raleigh, NC

    Pros

For the most part you are free to perform your work as you see fit with minimum interference from management.

    Cons

No job security. As soon as the work load slows down they are quick to lay off employees. Mid-level managers are not well trained and need to be more responsive to the needs of Project Managers and Superintendents.
