I worked at Credit Suisse full-time for more than a year

    Pros

For the most part, your job is secure and you don't have to fear being laid off.

    Cons

You will constantly be at odds with their ailing IT infrastructure. I think the payment system at McDonalds is probably more advanced than some of the custom software employees are CS are forced to use. It seriously hinders productivity and efficiency. They keep going on about innovation but they are unwilling to address many of the underlying problems that make the company inefficient in the first place. Furthermore, although the Raleigh site is the largest campus for CS, the company's senior management has no respect for the area and its people. Remember Raleigh employees, the only reason they hire you is because they're too cheap to hire in New York. As a result, the pay is absolutely lousy, completely uncompetitive compared to other banks and other companies in the Raleigh area. Between the lousy pay and the poor IT infrastructure actively hindering your ability to work, it is hard to actually be inspired to work well. Imagine an investment bank that is unable to get timely stock prices due to a broken system, as unbelievable as that is; that is Credit Suisse.
