    - Learned so much about everything the role Customer Service Representative encompasses - Opportunities to work in other areas such as sales and furniture - Extensive training and care for employees - Exceptional management team

    I worked at Crate and Barrel full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Great training, nice lunch rooms, ability to enjoy the outdoors at lunchtime on breaks

    Cons

    Absolutely one of the most strictest places with regards to their time clocks and their time clocks are not even matched from the first floor to the second floor. On top of that, you can have four or five late occurrences and THEN they tell you the way to work around it. Would’ve been nice to know that the first time!

    I have been working at Crate and Barrel part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    It can be a fun place to work. Bonus incentives for stats. Nice break rooms. Opportunities for growth. ETA: after reading other reviews, decided to comment on some more of the negative comments. *If customers are yelling at you throughout the call, you are lacking some essential skills in deescalation, empathy, listening, and communication. Consider improving those skills to make your work life easier and more rewarding. When you make an angry customer happy, they thank YOU in the end. I don't think the perfect CSR job exists. To be happy at this job you need to have the right perspective for it. What is the right perspective? "This is a great opportunity to learn all the skills I can, and if I stop feeling challenged at this job, it's a launching pad for the next job." Don't take negative interactions personal. There's a lot of cool, kind peeps at the call center. Make those people your friends and allies and you'll enjoy working here.

    Cons

    They can suddenly change your schedule without sufficient warning causing you to be late. You don't get your own desk if you're part-time. *I was surprised at the minimalism in training. That could be frustrating. I agree with that. I do not understand how cutbacks in training benefit the company. My guess is they *assume* MOST employees would be overwhelmed and quit sooner? I'm of the opinion that the truly empowered employee, is the one who goes to the floor with the most info in their toolbox. Being told you need "to use your resources" by an overwhelmed supervisor when you have no idea where they all are, is frustrating to a new bee. THAT being all said, you have an opportunity to STAND out if you turn out to be resourceful and not need as much hand-holding. Food for thought. *I was impressed with the pillars/values presentation, but don't feel that they are actually very well represented. *The hierarchy becomes obvious when you see who the winners are for the BeAmazing incentive. The hierarchy toots their own horns and some of them seem pretty stuck up in general. I tried smiling at one, and they looked away and smiled at the wall. Looks like a bad case of Mean Girls lol

    Pros

    Some nice associates and the discount.

    Cons

    New management has no "clue" how to run anything! If you want bad training, horrible management and software that is outdated and never works this is the place for you. You want to feel like your in Kindergarten sign-up it here! Use to be a wonderful place, people our running not walking out in droves... Corporate wake-up!!! And that HR person upstairs... has no idea how to be an HR person does not belong in that position at all! Started NOT promoting from within.

    Pros

    Open 7 days a week allows for somewhat flexible scheduling. Nice co-workers. Have ability to compensate customers to help smooth over order problems.

    Cons

    Every minute of your day is documented and analyzed. Very strict expectations on adhering to minimal time between calls, which does affect your reviews. Only 30 min lunch break. Call monitorings/ expectations are too picky.
