Pros
Work life balance is amazing. You get 20 days vacation + 2 weeks off during Christmas + 4 personal days + unlimited sick days + random days when the university is closed and also summer Friday's. It is always 9-5 and hardly any overtime, and if there is you are paid time and a half for it. It is a stress-free environment and great if you have a family because of all the days off.
Cons
It is a unionized environment, and because of that the employees are very lazy and lack motivation. They do only the minimum amount of work and never go above and beyond expectations. It is really frustrating. Many good people leave because of that, and the ones that are left behind are the ones who will stay in the same position for 10+ years and are ok with it. The salary is probably enough for the amount of work you do, however you can probably get more money if you work in corporate.
