I worked at Cold Stone Creamery part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The job itself is fun. Everything about the job is honestly just really unique and fun. It was also kind of laid back, strict about sanitary, uniforms, etc. but it was more of all hands on deck atmosphere and everyone helped out. It wasnt like boring shifts where you clock in and hit the same button the whole time.

    Cons

I personally felt overworked, under appreciated, and underpaid a lot of the time.

I worked at Cold Stone Creamery part-time for more than a year

    Pros

50% employee discount on ice cream (ice cream was pretty decent) and putting a smile on children's faces; other than that, no other pros to list

    Cons

EXAMPLES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING: Long hours, especially when having to work at night and close late Overbearing, micromanaging, and cheap manager with a "know-it-all" attitude; was always his way or the highway in regards to completing each task; would still find things to complain about that weren't "done right" even though I always went above and beyond with my duties Would constantly ask for more opening shifts rather than always working at night, had one decent schedule (if that) for the following week before manager would go back on his word and had 4-5 (sometimes 6) night/closing shifts in a row as part of the schedule going forward Certain employees with a "know-it-all" attitude as well even though their workload and knowledge of the job was significantly less than that of a shift leader Favoritism repeatedly shown towards the "assistant manager" who barely did their own job on more than one occasion; title of "assistant manager" primarily based on having worked there the longest Manager would sit on the computer all day instead of contributing around the store; would let the workload for the day build up making it harder for me to get everything done along with having to help rushes of people all night Rude and entitled customers (not all, but too many of them); would often show up five minutes before closing as well Being on-call 24/7; for example, having a day off as scheduled but still being asked constantly to come in and work regardless; unable to have a normal social life outside of the job Had to split tips even with those who did the bare minimum, if that, for the whole night; tips were sometimes split unevenly by other people which was why I always made sure to divide the tips myself, EVENLY, and to keep my share in my pocket to keep it out of everyone else's sight Store never appeared to be clean even after attempting to thoroughly clean at the end of the night Equipment steadily falling apart and would never get replaced (ex: ghea that holds the ice cream is LITERALLY on its last leg; lights would flicker off and on at random times along with constantly breaking down, walk-in freezer also broke down more than once which resulted in having to transfer each pan of ice cream and any other frozen items to the freezer in the lobby, rolling carts would have aerosol cans in order to hold the shelves upright) Constantly running out of popular food items, causing customers to take out their frustrations on employees as a result (ex: would sometimes have to walk next door to the mini mart to purchase milk and other small items that were needed) Workload by itself was beyond exhausting at times (ex: making ice cream from scratch, having to complete a MINIMUM of 5-10 cakes per shift (usually close to 15 at times), putting away food items that were part of the weekly delivery shipment, make waffles/cupcakes/cookie sandwiches, etc.), combined with having to run back and forth in order to help customers; had no help while everyone else for the most part sat on their phones in between rushes of people No breaks unless hiding in the bathroom counts as one OVERALL, A TOXIC, UNPROFESSIONAL WORK ENVIRONMENT THAT HAD TAKEN A TOLL ON ME NOT ONLY PHYSICALLY, BUT MENTALLY AS TIME WENT ON. THERE ARE MUCH BETTER JOBS THAT EXIST. LEAVE AND DON'T LOOK BACK.

I have been working at Cold Stone Creamery full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

It’s a fun environment with people your age!

    Cons

This is a petty con, but the uniform sucks. Ice cream places are fun environments and we are the only ice cream shop I know that is limited to boring grey shirts and red aprons.
