I worked at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Give us a lot of autonomy. In respect of the general objective of the year of course.
Big company so a lot of ressources. Leave place for us to make our mark.
    All good ideas are welcome.
In the last years, took a very important and positive turn on health and safety issues.

    Cons

Budget are very tight and not easy to achieve
A lot of pressure around meeting financial numbers.
A lot of hours needs to be invested to get the job done.
Need to be creative to find solutions at low cost to meet objectives.

    Advice to Management

    Walk the talk.
Not the same emphasis is put on the mission and values of the company depending on which department we work for. This creates distortion on the decision process. Increasing the silo effect.

I have been working at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated full-time

    Pros

Not stuck in an office all day.
Coca-Cola name is great on resume.
A lot of fringe benefits at times.

    Cons

Constant layoffs and re-structuring over the past year. Approximately 25% of office and sales staff have been cut in the past year with remaining employees expected to pick up slack for no extra pay.

    Advice to Management

You can only cut back on the number of employees so much before the morale loss and decreased level of service customers receive result in profit losses that outweigh the cost savings. "Honoring God in all we do" is the company motto, but the almighty dollar seems to be the god around here when there are layoffs of much needed employees 3 weeks before Christmas.
