Wonderful opportunities to advance and move around in the City. I am Part-time and there are plenty of ways to apply for different jobs (however, this, of course, can also be done externally- so do not worry!). Good job security and excellent training and support from management who have years of experience!

Cons

For most PT jobs the responsibility is on you to get your shift covered...however, that is typical in most workplaces of the shift nature....so really, no complaints. :)

recruitment process is unclear, with possible elements of nepotism; no career path or progression for part time staff

Great salary and good hours for a student. The job was simple enough and they provided many training opportunities.

Poisonous work environments can often persist develop because of a lack of leadership or disconnect because full time day workers and part time evening-night workers.

Pros

Very good part-time job. Ended up with full-first aid/CPR/AED training. Because I work at a desk, I was able to do a lot of schoolwork. My particular work area is very child-friendly so if my husband was late getting home, I could bring the kids with me and have them wait for him.

Cons

Can be hard to find replacements for your shifts when a hiring freeze occurs. Means you may not be able to take time off.
