Health benefits are okay, you get lots of breaks in the day.
Cons
The city does not care about its employees. When the freeze happened, they only paid their salaried employees. All other libraries in the area paid their employees, even part timers, as it was an emergency situation and we could not work. I reported my racist, deeply incompetent supervisor, and nothing happened of it. The director laughed in my face. It was absolutely hell. I was overworked, underpaid, and miserable.

Lot's of potential for upward momentum if you work hard. Carrollton likes to "grow their own" as you will often hear. Great work/life balance.

Good pay, half days on Fridays for most departments, occasional employee appreciation events, small departments

Small departments which lead to favoritism and office politics, IT is desperately understaffed and frequently has problems maintaining consistent employee access, advancement opportunity is limited
