    The people here are great

    This company is unlike any that I know, and not in a good way. I am also very perplexed as to who the people are here that have been giving such high reviews.
    To break it down for you, this company is run by a family, with two disagreeing brothers as the managing directors. That right there is a major issue for why things are difficult. They rarely agree on issues that they should clearly be aligned with.
    One brother, is completely set in his ways and old fashioned, refuses to allow staff (who are incredibly skilled to do the work they are hired to do), to improve and create content that would benefit the brands. He would rather people follow suit to exactly what he wants, and anyone who challenges a new way/modern thinking in terms of "less is more", is quickly terminated. His respect for his employees is shown in his own punctuality with meetings, and the higher than thou attitude that is reflected in communication between team members. Having to report to him requires lengthy and time wasting write-ups or agendas, and going over every detail as to why something didnt work.
    As for the other brother, he is more up to speed and eager to create change, however his overall micromanaging, incredibly high expectations, contradictions and constant comparing to other companies creates a less than ideal work environment. Being challenged and having high goals is necessary for any person and business, but constantly being made to feel as though nothing is "perfect" and in turn feeling guilty is incredibly unhealthy.
    There is a problem with some departments being understaffed, which leads to people taking on elements of other positions (without pay increase) to cover all bases, which again in turn can become stressful and unfair. Constantly being watched either by the cameras in every corner of the buildings, or the monitoring of what is on your computer screen, gets tiring very quickly.
    There are some great products coming out of this company, however some become irrelevant and behind the times in technology, within a few short months compared to the competition. This is largely due to the fact that there is some sort of disconnect with product release dates, which are never met and often weeks or months past original times. This would be understandable once and while, but having this happen with every single product is concerning.

    Advice to Management

    Let go a little bit.

    Pros

    Company is growing and if successful can have large impact and grow within the company. People there are great. Focused on culture, provide rewards and corporate lunches once a month. Safe and clean environment.

    Cons

    Turnover is an issue. High expectations. Compensation package could improve with regards to vacation, lieu time and pay at some levels. It has been improving but recent contracts removed lieu time which means if you work 60 hour week, no compensation or time off but instead built into your pay.

    Advice to Management

    I think all companies can benefit from valuing their employees more. This is something that would help CWD with the turnover and retention issues. The focus has always been growing the business and I believe that is obviously more important but to take the company to the next level we need more focus on the value of employees.

    Pros

    Location is reasonable and easily accessible, environment is appropriate. Colleagues are very friendly and easily approachable once you get to know them. Products are within reach in case you need hands on while dealing with a customer so that's a plus. Tools are up to par, enough to be able to do the work that is assigned. I can certainly see the "family" like qualities of the team and its nice to work with constant environment and shifts.

    Cons

    Disorganized in procedures, there are written processes but there are a lot of if, ands or buts. Each person may have their own version of how to do a task based on who mentored them so it can be a little confusing. Coming from an informal background, it is tricky to adjust. There are high expectations which are understandable but not so much when you're just starting with the company and with dealing with multiple products. Training is lengthy but disorganized as well. A lot of "we'll tackle it on the floor" or "I'll provide the printouts later" that come up again when you're literally on the floor and starting to do the work. I don't have complaints on it as usually the answers can be easily found once you are doing the work and getting used to, and it is understandable since it is a growing company. Current processes aren't bad but can be improved.

    Advice to Management

    The direction you are going is nice as well as the pace, the goal that you want to reach is commendable. You have picked the best of the best and that is seen in your team but don't loose sight of some of the basics as well.

    Pros

    CWD is a dynamic and fast-paced business. The environment is professional without feeling too stuffy or stuck up. Since it's a relatively young company, there really aren't any "lifers" or know-it-all types around.

    New hires are welcomed by the team and usually integrate quickly. Management has made a good effort to encourage a team environment, and holds regular company and department events.

    For almost all employees, the hours are 8:00-5:00, Monday-Friday with no overtime expected. The work/life balance is good and nobody is expected to answer cell phones after 5:00 etc.

    All full-time employees receive benefits and management is flexible when time-off is needed for appointments and family matters. Tuition reimbursement is available for qualifying courses.

    There are opportunities to move up in the company, and most current managers have been promoted from within. It's a great place to gain experience and take on new challenges to grow your skill set.

    Cons

    -Being a fast-paced environment, change comes quickly and relatively often.
    -Management has high expectations and holds employees accountable (not a con but some people have a hard time with this)
