Some great people work here.
Worst company and worst employer I've ever worked for. The business is family owned and the brothers can't seem to agree on anything. The tension is palpable whenever they're together and it makes for very awkward meetings.
The older brother is extremely socially awkward, dishonest, and is completely out of touch with the real world. He micromanages to an extreme, sets unachievable goals and expectations, and has no respect for other people's time. Despite always asking for it, he doesn't value feedback and just uses it against you, so it's best to just smile and nod and keep your mouth shut. That's what most people in the company have learned to do. He doesn't trust his staff or listen to anyone's advice or strategies and then blames everyone for poor performance and declining sales, when he really only has himself to blame for his failing business.
The company's mission is to "Create What's Different" but they do the complete opposite. They are focused on outdated policies and procedures that keep people from actually getting any work done. If you're literally just two minutes late, you're written up, but there is no appreciation for the hours you may spend working after end of day.
There are a lot of good people who work there but turnover is extremely high. 80% of the staff I talked to wish they worked elsewhere but with not many options in the Niagara area, they feel stuck. The recruitment process also takes forever (several months of countless interviews) and there is no training. They also seem to favour younger and inexperienced workers who unfortunately don't know any better, all so they can manipulate them and use them as scapegoats when things go wrong.
If you want to be a lemming who is overworked, undervalued, and underpaid, this is the place for you.
Advice to Management
Trust your staff, appreciate them more, treat them better, and let go of the reins sometimes.

Its a cool place to work. Nothing majorly negative about the place. If you are good at what you do, you get appreciated. There is a conscious effort to build an excellent team. The workers around are all knowledgeable at what they do and the passion about their work is there to see. Though company events happen at the same places year in year out, they are fun times. Its is a good place to get work experience if you are a recent graduate. They like recent grads. If you got a good idea about a process, such proposals are always welcome
At the end of the day, this is a family owned business so the owners do what they like and they have the final say at the end of the day. Not much to do about that. Everything is micro managed and that at times delay decision making. Once you get used to that, it doesn't become a con but a norm.
Advice to Management
Company is growing really fast and so maybe managers should be given some increased level of autonomy with decision making and responsibility for the outcomes of those decisions.
There are many different positions so there is the ability to start in an entry level and work up. The company believes in internal promotion and allows applicants to come from different departments. As the company is rapidly growing there is room for employees to grow with it. Staff are very friendly and helpful for the most part which makes for a comfortable working situation.
Since the company is growing rapidly, there is a lot of learning opportunities for all team members of the company which makes coming into work each day interesting. The company is also always trying to improve operations to make everyone's job more efficient which allows team members to focus their efforts on more meaningful/interesting tasks.
Fast paced atmosphere may not be desirable by some people. It is a family owned company so sometimes you need to deal with conflicting requests by management.
The rapid growth sometimes means people need to think on their feet as there may not be procedures in place for everything that comes up. This can be a positive for some as it keeps things interesting but can also frustrate others.
