    Pros

This company is great for learning. I have learned so much since starting here and get to use a lot of creative thinking each day. Definitely a great place to work.

    Cons

The MDs are extremely involved in the day to day business which is great and gives them a huge sense of ownership in the business. The only downside to this is often slows down processes while waiting for approvals or feedback.

    Advice to Management

Implementing a different approvals process would ensure everything moves along smoothly and effectively.

    Pros

    Creative and Forward Thinking!
    Teamwork Approach
    Always Striving for Excellence
    Stable and Considerate
    Poised for Massive Growth
    Standard Operating Procedures

    Cons

The company is currently in a high growth period so restructuring presents its challenges. Too many balls in the air sometimes. I think all companies struggle with these issues. Strive for faster more educated decision making.

    Advice to Management

Continue to align the company to your vision
Allow yourself to grow and build trust in your employees.

    Pros

Overall a great place to work where the corporate culture is positive and employees are focused on bringing success to all aspects of the company.

    - They promote from within
    - Great work life balance
    - Really cool products
    - Focused on growth for the company and for employees
    - Good facilities/building management
    - Great benefits (Health, Gym, Training, Education)

    Cons

    - Horizontal Organizational Structure can led to delays in decision making

Hard to find other constructive criticism. The company has worked hard to address any employee concerns and are always willing to receive suggestions for improvement.

    Advice to Management

Provide managers with more decision making authority to improve efficiency and increase productivity.
Continue to be employee focused and work on sustainable growth.

    Pros

Lots of room for growth, fantastic culture, company events, luncheons, give-aways etc.

    Cons

Growing pains: Company is running on very lean staffing. Stress can often be high in the wake of a fast paced and ever-growing/ever changing environment. Days can be long, and pressure can be high at times.

    Pros

Most of the employees are actually pretty great, and smart, and creative

    Cons

    Micro-management
    No trust for employees
BOD can access all video cameras via their cell phones, so you are being monitored 24/7
    Very high turnover rate
Asked upper management to write reviews on this site
Upper management are the only ones who get many benefits the company promotes as perks, like RRSP contributions and additional vacation time
Processes make no sense, and the BOD is very resistant to change
Employees are expected to stay late on a regular basis
The employee education fund has been put in place so they can get current employees to learn how to fill positions of those employees who have quit. They will not pay you to do two jobs, but they will pay for you to learn how to do the second job, and allow you to continue with your new title and twice the work load. As a bonus, they do not have to hire anyone else who will inevitably quit on them

    Advice to Management

    Learn to trust your employees
Better yet, sell the company to someone who knows what they are doing if you ever want to see it succeed

    Pros

-good for graduate (get your one or two years of expérience and move on)
    - team events (you will be talked into going if you say no)
    - Team members aside from management are amazing to work with. They are nice and will become family and most even hang out after leaving here (Survivors who live to tell and end up at companies who value them)

    Cons

    - Favorites. There are many employees at this company who are the favorites. If your not one you dont have à chance.
    - Board of directors two brothers. They don't see eye to eye frequently also they have little expérience outside of this company. One of them micromanages, thé other sets unrealistic deadlines. I worked directly under one.
-Your life must be only CWD. They are mindful of who leaves at 5 on thé dot. If you aren't willing to work late you won't succeed. Many meetings will be booked after 5 or you wont get à meeting. Most positions are salary too so you lose money. They designed It that way. Not à good company to work at If you have à family.
    - They steal ideas. Not innovative. If another company is doing It thats what they will do. Not okay with new ideas and won't give you space to make your own decisions. You will be micromanaged. You cannot move forward as they won't show up for meetings or respond to emails.
    - More Interested in how you format correspondance than thé information inside.
    - You are being watched more than any other place. How many times you go to bathroom, etc. Cameras throughout building. They love to spy and doubt everyone.
-Wages and reviews: your wage will only go so far. I had à review 2 years late and they waited and waited and was let go with no backpay right before. I only stayed bécause even with only cost of living increase I would of had à large backpay. Your review is à low priority and they say you will get backpay but thats If they dont let you go or you quit first.

    Advice to Management

Let it go let it go... Let your employee make their own décisions.

Stop calling it à board of directors when clearly no one but family will hold that position.

Did anyone else notice most reviews of current employee is in November 2014. Most likely HR pushing towards trying to improve image. Even this is micromanaged.

I worked at Circus World Displays full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - fellow employees are wonderful to work with
    - not working at CWD

    Cons

    - every day, employees walk into a beige building with bars on the windows
    - both managing directors asked current employees to write positive reviews on this site
    - the one managing director uses big words he hears from educated employers and ends up sounding unprofessional
    - the BOD is formed of a mom and dad and their two sons, good luck with that
    - the BOD micro manages the death out of everyone
    - hr went from 5 employees to 1 at the end of 2014
    - turnover was 40% for 2014
    - once an employee leaves, they are badly talked about by managing directors or asked to work from home for their last two weeks so they do not talk to other employees
    - wage is low, hence why young professionals are hired
    - recruitment process drags on
    - to get ahead, you have to stay late. If you like to go home right at 5:00PM (because almost 9 hours isn't enough for them) and see your family - you wont make it at CWD. It shows them you are not putting your "all" into the company
    - many meetings are wasted on overly discussing employees growth. That employee falls behind on their work and ends up staying late putting most action items from meeting on the back burner.
    - computer usage monitored like its some sport to the BOD
    - cameras in every office, which the BOG watched from their phone to make sure other employees are not on their phone. Huge trust issues.

    Advice to Management

    - pointless, as they will ask someone to write a positive review so they don't have to focus on the negative ones.

    Pros

The employees are great- youthful and full of ambition

    Cons

Senior management micro manages the living soul out of the place. No one has any decision making abilities and every decision is scrutinized down to irrelevant details. This is why they like new grads- because they don't have the business knowledge to question the illogical processes currently in place. They have surveillance cameras in every office, hallway and lunchroom which they can access from their cell phones because they don't trust anyone, even monitoring Internet useage. One Managing director is fairly logical, however the other which manages a majority of the business makes rash decision that don't have any logic- and doesn't care to listen to listen to anyone else's opinion. This is a highly inefficient business as there are a lot of make-work projects that are thrown at people with minimal time to do them (so employees stay late) and then nothing gets done with them. Due to extremely high turnover (40% per year) the owners are making a push to change the culture, however the odd lunch here and there doesn't overcompensate for all of the other frustrations. The on onboarding process is great, however new employees are judged by the Managing Directors from the second they are hired. Most people are considered to "not be working out" within the first week because they question the illogical processes. It is not surprising that their HR department have went through 4 HR managers in five years in addition to 3 other HR roles- there seem to be ethics involved and any professional doesn't want to be a part of it. Those positive reviews and that have stated have been there long term unfortunately haven't worked anywhere else to know how unprofessional this environment is. They will explain the turnover during interviews as exiting employees failure to adapt to change, but is sheer frustration that there is no change.

    Advice to Management

They won't listen- but they should take the guidance and advice of the people they hire. They are far more knowledgable then you are.
