I worked at Charles Schwab full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

In the right Senior VP organization you'll find what Schwab touts as a people first company culture. Decent benefits and employee services.

    Cons

Lots of churn in upper management--reorganizing for the sake of it. Poor oversight from HR when upper management goes off the rails. Lack of active employee development at the Sr. Manager level. Below average compensation.

I worked at Charles Schwab full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Schwab is an ethical company and always does what is right for the client. Good place to start a career.

    Cons

-Managing expenses has been taken a toll on employees in operations and technology, They expect more work with less people but upper management frequently drags their feet on paying for automation and other improvements to make this happen. Employees in non-revenue generating areas keep working harder and harder to keep up with ever increasing workloads. -Annual raises are very poor and promotion opportunities are limited

I worked at Charles Schwab full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good company to start at and learn with, for the most part you have a stable job but as of late it doesn't feel as secure, they laid off 600 people back in Aug and it didn't feel like that was going to be the end. While there they have a good 401k plan.

    Cons

The health benefits are horrible some of the worst for a large company, once your in it's extremely hard to move up, it's all about who you know here and not what you know. Most of the people here don't say good morning or even hold the door for you, it's a pretty toxic environment and feels a bit racist at times, upper management is very unprofessional, they talk crap about the employees i witness this as part of upper management. Work life balance is ok depending on the department but you hardly get to take a lunch or breaks, unless your in customer service. I say get trained here and head for the door, their are better companies.

I have been working at Charles Schwab full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You work 40 hours and never more unless you want to

    Cons

Not enough training, expected to learn almost everything as you go along. Calls never end, trapped on phone, micro managed, management seems to forget what it’s like to take calls and be in our position, you can tell upper management knows thinks brokers are expendable, I could go on and on

I have been working at Charles Schwab full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Some stability. Location nice. Cafe pretty good

    Cons

When hired I was told many great things that turned out to be false. Opinions are not really valued and this is not an innovative company. It’s a slow moving corporate behemoth requiring frequent meetings and upper management input to get anything done. There’s no career growth
