A great company that encourages innovation.

Hybrid working model is 4in-1out, which is less flexible than the 3in-2out that industry peers offer.

Pros

Forward-looking (societal implications of the business, approach to business, mental health and D&I advocacy). Attempts to be a contributing member to the communities they work in. Visible and involved CEO on media outlets and in government relations. Lots of work to do and learning opportunities if you're willing to take on responsibility.

Change after change after change after change (don't plan on EVER feeling comfortable, let alone secure in your role) Toxic culture between Husky and Cenovus politics - too many Husky senior people came thru in the acquisition bringing with them the notoriously poor Husky culture, processes and governance Culture is turning dog-eat-dog/eat-your-own-children. Previous Cenovus culture of collaboration and teamwork and forward progress together is not carrying thru in the new company. The future does not look bright thru an employee-lens.

Good pay and vacation if you can afford the time to take it. Great people at the working levels.

Not enough resources to support worker wellbeing. Managers hands are tied when it comes to being able to resource appropriately.

Cenovus leadership kicking out anyone who is above a certain years with Husky, however there. Are jobs available inside the org.

Chaotic after the merger, lots of people not knowing how they properly fit within the combined company so having to manage feelings with an uptick in workload.

I had alot of opportunity due to very little management guidance, but other interns suffered from poor opportunity and low end "intern work". Treated us very well, did see two rounds of layoffs and the aftermath of both. Gave alot of insight about the industry as a whole. Overall it is what you make of it and experience will vary greatly on manager and your ambition.

- Frequent Layoffs - High stress Deadlines - Widely different management styles team to team - Not an organized onboarding experience

Lots of focus on development now. Company’s doing really well.

As with any company, you need network, make sure your work is visible as some times favour their friends.
