    Pros

The pro would be the benefits and the pay. The culture is changing which is great. Engagement is coming back. Love the new CEO.

    Cons

I honestly don’t have anything bad to say. It’s a changing company that I am happy to work for. The new CEO is making good changes.

I have been working at Cenovus full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent pay, benefits, and vacation time.

    Cons

It's been a bad several years... lots of suspicion, back stabbing, throwing under bus, and pawn moving. Hopefully, as things start to turn towards a better future, people will become more open, trusting, and more determined to have a better work environment.

    Advice to Management

Thank you for being more transparent and it looks like the ship is starting to turn into a better pattern.

    Pros

Is focused on canadian assets, canadian based company. It was a good company to work at before all the changes.

    Cons

Company was better but has gone downhill over last few years with repetitive cuts. Need to fix management team. Hard to advance within the company if you are a woman.

I have been working at Cenovus full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Whether you have a positive or negative experience here depends on your GL and your director. My co-workers are outstanding. Alex seems to be righting the ship, but it will take time. Be patient, be positive.

    Cons

Lots of people who have been promoted into management or leadership roles who really shouldn't have, and are insanely egotistical and narcissistic...but there some really great leaders too.

    Advice to Management

Drive accountability, be consistent in messaging, follow through on commitments, don't take credit for other people's work, empower staff to do their job.

    Pros

Excellent working facilities , basically overkill on everything. Alex appears to be the right man for the job. No budgets or holding back when the oil price was high.

    Cons

Going to centralized busing in Lacorey was a smart move. The negative effect are the buses are very packed. They went and put twice as many seats in all buses. I person 6 feet tall can barely fit in the seat, knees jammed into the next seat. How much money are they really saving going with a jam packed bus? Sick time is going to go up, personal aren't getting proper rest, with the facility being an hour from Lacorey. Recent moral survey, shows that local management is very young, mostly inexperienced, and really have never been mentored property for there rolls. All the people that should have been in senior positions, were simply promoted to other unless jobs rolls, plus to be the leader they want you have to be a brown noser, and just be out for yourself. These people have no problem throwing there reports right under the bus. There is simply no trust with management. All they do is go around looking for dirt on everyone they can, and then get together and share notes. Also it is pretty bad when the reports below management know more about the operation than they do, that just says bad incompetent decisions will be made at the share holders expense. The one manager that actually new the facility and actually had a personality and you could have a normal conversation with is now gone, probably had enough BS.

    Advice to Management

Your going to have to earn the trust of your employees again. Deflate the big egos and start acting like normal people. Make employees feel comfortable about voicing options to management. Looks like at the VP level they may be getting the picture. Now you have to cascade that down to the local management. When you have duds promoting duds you get conflict. Alex your on he right track, keep digging

    Pros

Work with a nice group of people

    Cons

Not a transparent company, however new CEO apparently has plans to change that.
Male counterparts seem to be paid more than females.
    Benefits are horrible

I have been working at Cenovus full-time

    Pros

descent pay, do like the one week on and one week off schedule, this allows for getaways with out burning up vacation time

    Cons

less then stellar camp even within Cenovus organization and the food is subpar. HR is completely oblivious to many of the employee practices that happen in the organization, absolutely no consistency in hiring, firing or promoting of staff

    Advice to Management

New CEO seems like a breathe of fresh air and ideas, nice to see a lot of layers of management have been removed to eliminate a lot of un-needed bureaucracy to get decisions made. Employee practices are quite bewildering and a lot of the practices are unknown and hidden from the top. still operate on 70's practices and need to get into the current day philosophies of managing people. I am putting faith that CEO Alex Pourbaix will accomplish this
