I have been working at Celestica full-time

    Pros

Celestica builds products for many of the world's leading technology companies so you will get a lot of exposure to different best practices.

    Cons

No growth in an industry with very tight profit margins so they are always cutting staff and are no longer investing for the future. Just trying to live through another day. Problems with strategy execution. Very conservative. 80% of manufacturing in Asia so on the phone all evening most days of the week.

I have been working at Celestica full-time

    Pros

Working here has provided me with exposure to many industries and technologies within the realm of electronics manufacturing.

Management is accommodating of requests to get involved with different projects.

Being a large corporation, you are surrounded by experienced professionals.

I've had pleasant interactions with most people.

Never had a problem with flexible hours or taking time off.

    Cons

Middle management is over staffed. Poor overall culture. Few young people aside from students. Slightly below average salary and benefits. Lateral career movement.

Out-dated/ignorant approach to software development and best practices.

    Advice to Management

Engage with your younger staff in an attempt to retain them and advance their career. Too many skilled people leaving for better paying, modern workplaces.
