I have been working at Carnival full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

More than the heels and whistles of the ship - it is the people who make the difference. Had a great team who were hardworking individuals.

    Cons

Being away from home for long stretches of time.

    Pros

Great Company. Cares about the employees. Lots of on site benefits! Management is progressive and in tune with the staff for the most part.

    Cons

Constant organizational changes leaves employees concerned and anxious about their own job security. Very paper/Manual processes. Need to update to current technology.

I worked at Carnival full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You don't have to pay rent, bills, food and everything which involves day to day expenses. Basically, the cost of living is 0. This way, you manage to put some money on the side.

    Cons

You forget what involves "real life". This way, when you quit working on the cruise ships it takes quite long time to get used with not living "in a hotel".

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.

I have been working at Carnival full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great company and the opportunity to make serious money each month based on the number of bookings you make plus you free cruises if you are flexible and willing to go stand by

    Cons

Base pay sucks so bad that it might as well be commission only. This position consumes your life. This is a salary position so they expect you to work late everyday and most weekends.

    Advice to Management

management is great however let people come in when they can versus always asking what time are you coming to work on Saturday and Sunday

    Pros

    Ports
    Ability to Save Money
    Vacation Time

    Cons

No 401K with less than 10 years in the company
    Health Care is AWFUL
    Food

    Advice to Management

Promote people who actually work hard, and care, versus those who brown nose to the top. Adversely, fire those people who clearly are terrible at their jobs, don't care, don't follow rules, and stop giving them a million chances
