I have been working at Capco full-time

    Pros

    - Close knit community of junior level employees - Standard work-life balance - Many opportunities to contribute to company extracurriculars - Newly renovated office

    Cons

    - Thinly veiled favoritism that decides the kind of work and projects you are staffed on (opportunities are rarely advertised company wide) - Encouraged company wide gossiping - At times, extremely unprofessional senior management - Mismanaged HR department that is unequipped to handle the growth of the company and does NOT treat each employee in isolation of their peers - Many ill-conceived projects that are almost a slap in the face to employees with great experience and skills - Very little guidance in career development and growth as an individual - Dysfunctional feedback processes for performance reviews

I have been working at Capco full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Have been with Capco for over 5 years. The work interesting and challenging. You are encouraged to take control of your career and I have felt continually supported by the Leadership team. There are lots of opportunities to get involved and actively participate in different initiatives (from community and affinity groups to business development and sales).

    Cons

Work / Life balance is a constant issue with the expectation to excel at Client and contribute to Capco business (nature of the Consulting business) Over the past year lost some very good consultants and culture has dwindled. There are some very smart, and passionate individuals where it is a pleasure to work with, however, this is not always the case with some lacking basic consulting skills/team-orientated mindset.

    Pros

Great place to work if you surround yourself with the right people. You can find mentors who actually care about you, not just the bottom line.

    Cons

Work-life balance can be a challenge.

I worked at Capco full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Software professionals often complain about work life balance. If you are one of those, your search stops right at Capco Pune. In my entire career so far, i've never been able to manage a better work life balance than at Capco. As a industry recognized Consulting company, Capco attracts some of the best talents in the industry. You will find your colleagues from all big names in IT and Consulting industry. This gives you great exposure and learning. As far as work goes, you get some real high quality work. E.g. if you are playing role of a Project Manager or Program Manager, you don't end up just being a resource manager. You get exposure to end to end program and project execution. This is not usual while working with service industry companies. Client respects you, as you hold some of crucial portfolio positions. While working for Capco, i felt that it has created a different mark for itself in the industry. Client doesn't look you as just another service provider, but appreciates the value you bring onto the table. Another great thing I liked about Capco is it's small company culture. You almost have direct access to anyone in the organization - HR, unit head, accounts heads. Because of this you have lot of HR help available for even trivial issues like transportation. Lot of organizations boast of flat structure, but in Capco you really live that. I really enjoyed my stint at Capco.

    Cons

One of the cons was limited number of clients. But lately Capco Pune has been able to attract lot of new clients - some of real big names in financial industry.

    Web Editor

Thank you for the positive feedback on the quality of work on offer at Capco, and the social events we sponsor. Inevitably with any project-based business like a global consultancy, there will be a degree of variety and duration in the kind of work on offer at any particular time. For many people, it is this variety of work and the chance to work on different projects and clients that is the most attractive feature of a career in consulting. At Capco, we pride ourselves both on the range of different projects in our portfolio at any time, and the make-up of our clients across the Financial Services sector. The reference to micro-management in the feedback is less easy to understand. Staff at Capco enjoy high levels of empowerment which translates into accelerated development and more opportunity for progression. This, combined with a non-hierarchical management structure and an inclusive, supporting culture, are characteristics of the firm that are highly valued by our people and tend to generate very positive feedback on forums like this.

I have been working at Capco full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

As a company focused only on Financial Services, Capco provides a great platform for continuing to evolve and develop deep and relevant knowledge across the industry. As an independent, mid-sized company, Capco offers excellent opportunities for growth without the limitations and red tape that you'd expect at a large consulting firm. For example, publishing of blogs and white papers is open to all individuals at Capco with a point of view and entrepreneurial spirit, and can typically be turned around and on the website to be promoted globally on social media within days. The other benefit of Capco is the open culture, where everyone is accessible.

    Cons

As a consultancy that continues to grow, there's always more to do than can be done. Work-life balance is achievable but requires self management.
