I worked at Canadian Natural Resources full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good pay, employer matching RRSPs, no layoffs

    Cons

Very little flexibility when it comes to family. You work their hours, no questions asked. Health and dental package is OK, does not include things like acupuncture, and very little physio and massage, dental runs out fast! Long hours. Management is not very approachable. Keep your head down and work. Career opportunities for women are not as abundant as for men.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Canadian Natural Resources for more than 5 years

    Pros

If you can get hired on you will be immune to getting fired, receive good benefits, and get good pay with stock options.

    Cons

Worked for CNRL as a contractor. Employees get treated like gold, contractors get treated like second hand citizens. Hiring freeze was implemented. No benefits, no pay structure, no incentives. Watched some of the best, and most experienced workers get laid off because they were contract operators, while useless employees who made constant mistakes, cost the company thousands of dollars get a free pass. Management uses bullying tactics against employees to try and force people to quit instead of just firing them. These same people then work the system and pretend they get a hurt leg, or back, and go on long term disability for the rest of their career.
