Used to be a great company. 2.5 rating

- Supportive, cooperative, kind and understanding managers, tech leads and teammates. - Remote work, promoting ideal work-life balance. - OT work is strongly discouraged. - Used to have a good and complete engineering team structure. - Roadmaps for each member were properly executed. - Mentorship through 1:1s - Outstanding and career-boosting projects you get to work on
Cons
- No hiring to re-fill the manager position. - Collaboration on huge projects could be very difficult as some team members may choose their work hours during which the rest of the team were asleep. (due to timezone difference). without letting the team know, leaving them wonder. - Salary increase stopped due to the business slowing/going down. - Business model was negatively impacted by external factors (e.g. increasing interest rates, vehicle fleet renting cost, logistic costs) and by internal factors (e.g. aggressive purchasing, poor customer service handling) Honestly, if not for the setbacks and crisis the company had faced, it could have been a successful business because of the talented and good team members I had the honor of working with. We had rolled out ground-breaking features that customers loved. However, due to these negative factors, the business execution and outcome proved unsuccessful. In addition, the managers expected a downfall and had to pursue opportunities somewhere, leaving the subordinate managers/tech leads with a big shoe to fill; hence, adding so much workload. The departures of many team members were also demoralizing.

Good people but lacks structure
Apr 12, 2023 - Graphic Designer in Vancouver, BCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Remote work with extended health benefits. I was lucky enough to have worked for two different teams under two amazing managers who contributed a lot for my professional development. I had flexibility to work my own hours and lots of creative freedom.
Cons
They lack structure. The company grew fast and in an unorganized way, so every team has their own culture and feels like a whole different company. They're not very intentional about creating a good work culture for all. Managers lack training (mine were great, but I heard some not-so-good stories from other teams). One of the CEOs is condescending and needs to seriously reevaluate how he treats and talks about employees.

Job security?
Nov 25, 2022 - Customer Support Representative in Vancouver, BCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- good benefits - great coworkers - free food/ transportation - gym membership - the work is pretty easy once you get the hang out it; a lot of multitasking - team events - pretty flexible ( schedule wise)
Cons
- under valued ( no commissions/incentives yet they want staff to excel in their role and go above and beyond) - mass "temp" layoffs every year due to a 'shortage of work' for the season; basically a loop around giving serverance to people - over worked ( knew someone in a diff department that was refused a raise but he was the top agent on the team, did so much for that team) - didn't get a new contract when promoted; new pay grade but no contract outlining everything

Pros
a poorly managed company that ran into the bankruptcy
Cons
Literally, the whole company was horrible to work for

Pros
The majority of the staff are very personable and all around great people on a personal level. If you are passionate about cars, most of your day won't feel like work because you get to engage with cars all day long. Many staff have the option to work from home and are able to be very productive. There has been a lot of promoting from within so if you are motivated you can progress in your career.
Cons
Although the people are great, at the Senior Leadership level strong guidance and overall leadership is lacking when it comes to true business sense A lot of this comes down to inexperience in my opinion; however there seems to be a lot of obvious "low hanging fruit" that continues to be ignored and is costing the company a lot of money (not sure if leadership truly aware of this to be honest). A lot of money has been invested from external sources which is awesome; however there is a limited amount of time before the company needs to show some strong profit numbers in order to keep the investors happy in my opinion.

I find the work fun, challenging with a way to learn and progress my skillset.
Nov 30, 2022 - Video EditorRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I really enjoy my role here at canada drives. It has given me a lot of room to progress my skills which is very important to me. I find my team leaders give me great constructive criticism that help me grow. I feel im given the freedom to present ideas and help shape future content and styles. The management throughout every level has an incredible amount of communication, something that i haven't experienced before, the town hall meetings give a great amount of drive and sense of achievement as well as helps with the direction we are going towards which helps you feel your work is productive to the big picture of the company. The workplace culture is very fun and has great communication throughout all levels of the company.
Cons
Would be great to have more interdepartment events to help communicate with other members of the team.
